The above image of a scan of Welwyn High Street illustrates the amount of detail achieved from a single scan taking minutes to capture. Using conventional surveying methods this amount of detail would take at the very least a day to capture. To produce this image, the raw data is quickly processed to generate the ‘pointcloud’ from which a variety of 2D and 3D deliverables can be achieved.
