10km Luton to Dunstable Busway Survey by Terrain Surveys

Terrain Surveys completed a detailed measured survey of Luton Dunstable Busway – a 10km dedicated bus route between Luton and Dunstable, which continues to Houghton Regis on the road network.
To support Luton Borough Council’s plans for extensive maintenance work on the former railway line, Terrain Surveys used traditional land surveying techniques to measure the busway surface, curbs, positions of street furniture as well as trees and undergrowth within the boundary walls.
The busway was opened in 2013 as a fast, frequent and reliable service linking Luton and nearby towns. The buses run on their own dedicated track, to bypass traffic congestion, as well as on public roads.
The complete project to survey detailed measurements along the length of the busway and to provide plans and elevational drawings was completed in a timescale of less than five weeks.
