Manton Lane Reservoir

Project Summary

The underground reservoir decommissioned by Anglian Water over 20 years ago is located on Manton Lane in Bedford. The reservoir is to be demolished and an industrial unit built in its place.

Survey Brief

Terrain Surveys were commissioned by Goodrich Consulting to provide a set of comprehensive survey drawings including floor plans of the reservoir, a topographical survey and utility survey of the site. A measured survey was required to support a programme of refurbishment work to the fabric and roof of the temple building.

Key Facts

• A comprehensive survey schedule was provided and all survey work completed with our surveyors liaising with Anglian Water staff for access to the underground reservoir and site
• Using 3D laser scanning to capture the reservoir allowed us to complete the work quickly, providing a highly accurate comprehensive set of reservoir plans
• Following the topographical survey the utility survey was undertaken to locate all services within the former Anglian Water site
• Prior to issuing the final survey deliverables the survey was checked to our stringent QA checking procedures
• The survey was completed within the agreed timescales and to a tight budget
